Wow, well, sorry, I can't believe it's been since January since I last posted. But, what can I say. Things have been a little crazy.
Kellee played on the JV2 Warriors soccer team. They did good this season. I was very proud of her.
Shawn is still loving Theatre Arts. He has decided to go to Dubiski High School next year. Dubsiki is the new H.S. in Grand Prairie. It is a Carrer/Technical high school. We will be going for medical. He has always been interested in the medical field and we are sure that he will love going to a school with a medical focus. He will get all of his normal high school credits as well as being able to test for EMT or Nurse Assistant when he gets out of high school. He looks forward to continuing his medical learning in college. He is very excited about next year. Kellee is not so excited that her brother has decided to go to a different school. It will be their first time going to seperate schools, and she not too keen on the idea so far. Hopefully she will like it. She decided to stay at SGP so that she can play sports.
Shawn Sr. took his big test on April 7th. He is now an official Sommelier. He is so glad that the test is over and now he can focus on working. It is nice not to have to carry around the stress of the test with him every day. He loves working at the Wine Bar. He has truly enjoyed learning so much about wine and pairings. I have no doubt he will continue his education and take the Level 2 Sommelier test next year.
Me, well, I still have a job after the "transition" which we are all thankful for. Now I am working like crazy to keep up. We lost 30% of our workforce in our facility and it has not been easy since. But, I just keep pushing through it and hope for the best future possible. I still enjoy watching Kellee play soccer. The regular outdoor season is in full swing and I enjoy the social time. I have met some truly wonderful people on the Odyssey team. And I have been able to enjoy several days of quality time with Shawn Jr. lately and he is growing into a wonderful young man.
We have gone through a hard time the last couple of weeks with one of our family member being in the hospital. We are hoping for a positive outcome from his stay and hoping to have him around for a very very long time to come.
Well, I better get going.

Well, we are back into the swing of things. No more time off for me for while. And the kids are back at school. I enjoyed my time off and I was able to visit Katrina while I was off. And I was able to spend more relaxing time at home than I thought was going to be possible.
I started something new this week and I hope it will help our grocery budget and health.
Me and the kids sat down and picked out recipes from some of my recipe books. And I wrote out an actual grocery list according to the recipes that the kids picked out. And just for kicks I let the kids pick out a dessert each as well. I was actually surprised that when I went grocery shopping, I spent less than normal... We'll see how it goes with cooking every night. I usually don't do very good at this, but I am trying something new and we will see how it goes. I will keep you updated to how I did this week.
I hope to post some new pictures soon. I have to take all the film to Walgreens to have it processed, it seems I have lost my good camera so I used a disposable for Christmas pictures. Then I went around and found 13 rolls of film (either a roll or a disposable camera.) Have no clue what is on all of them. But, hopefully I will remember when I pick up the disks at Walgreens...
Well, better get busy again... Talk to you soon and love you all!

Happy Holidays
Well, I know it's been a while. But, I am back online now at home. YEAH... Christmas was nice this year. We did our usual this year. Four Trips... It starts at Dad's which we had a great dinner and visit with family on the 21st. Then on Christmas eve we went to Grandma and Grandpa Reeves houses. Awesome evening. I always enjoy singing Christmas Carols before we open presents. And then we had to hurry over to Grandma Geer's house. There was a smalller crowd this year at the Geer side Christmas. Roy and Vicki were out of town on vacation so we missed out on seeing them. But, all in all it was a good night.
On Christmas morning we woke up and did Christmas here at home with the kids. It's always fun doing Christmas morning at home. Then we were off to Mema and Pepa's house for Christmas morning and breakfast with them. Then we came home and got ready to go to the family Christmas for the McGuirk/Owen side. We had this at Jessica and Larry's home this year. It was fun and we enjoyed ourselves everywhere that we went. But, I am glad it's over. It always gets a little hectic for me at Christmas time making sure I don't miss anyone.
The day after Christmas Mom and I left for Lubbock to see Katrina (my sister). We had a really nice visit. I went to my very 1st drive in movie. IT WAS SO COLD!!! Brrrrrrrrr... But I really enjoyed it. We watched Marley & Me and Twilight (Nice double feature). I picked up some raw cotton bolls on our way home. (Don't know why - but it was my souvenir). So, I was so curious about the processing of cotton that I came straight home and learned about how cotton is processed. Really cool! You should google it sometime.
Anyway, I better get going - Kellee is waiting for my computer...
I love you all and hope that 2009 brings you health, laughter, and lots and lots of love!

What are we doing?
Well, I know it's been a while. Things are going mostly well here. The kids are doing good in school and both are active in their own way.
Shawn has a tournament this weekend (25th) in Mansfield, so I will be able to go and watch him do his Duet with his partner (Alex). (Hopefully Grandma and Grandpa C. will be able to attend.) He is also an active part of Student Council (Meetings every Tuesday). He also attends Advanced Academics meetings every Monday and Friday. We went and watched the SGP theatre groups first play of the year on Satruday the 11th. It was really cool. I was impressed at the level this group is at already. I am really looking forward to watching Shawn grow with his Theatre. He really likes his Directors, so I think he will learn alot. He took the PSAT on Wed. (15th). He said that it was a very different test - and is interested to see how he did. Shawn has been having back problems again - we took him to see a Chiropractor - and he has a rib out of place! So, we are working on that. We are four treatments in so far, and it keeps slipping back out after a few days. But, he was adjusted yesterday for the 4th time, and he did well last night and this morning. Here's hoping between his excercises and adjustments - we will be able to get this fixed quickly.
Kellee has been doing well at Cross Country. However, she is currently injured. We went to the Dr. on Wed. (15th) and was told she has Patello Femural Syndrome. (Knee problems - most common in female athletes). So, she is currently on a 2 week rest from everything... As well as an anti flammatory medicine to help the healing process. So, she won't be running or playing soccer for the next two weeks. (Her last Cross Country Run was to be on Oct. 25th.) But, she will now be out for the last two runs of the season (Bummer!) Her knee started hurting about 2 - 3 weeks ago, but I really thought it was growing pains - HOW WRONG WAS I! Last Thursday at her run, she couldn't finish and had to sit at the halfway mark. And then on Sunday after warm up for her soccer game - she told coach she couldn't start because of the pain. So, she only played 1/2 of the game. (At that point I knew it wasn't growing pains!) So, off to the Dr. we went. Hopefully this will not be a problem for Soccer tryouts (for the SGP team) in November. She is doing well at school. Her grades are good.
I am doing good - running around, enjoying watching/attending the kids different events. Working, generally just staying busy.
Shawn Sr. works most of the time but is enjoying learning all about wine for his upcoming new position at the Wine Bar.

Well, so far so good! We are five weeks into the 9th grade and I still have some sanity. Last week was homecoming week. Wow. That was interesting to experience as a parent. The mum and garter thing, what a nightmare. We went out to a place in Dallas called the Sale Place and bought everything to make Kellee's Mum and her beau's garter. That was fun! We made T-shirts for 3 of the spirit days that week. Wow, who knew... What a busy week it was. I am so glad it's over. Shawn's friend decided she didn't want to do the whole mum/garter/game thing, so I was spared some expense... (Ended up being a good thing, cause we had to go out and find him a suit during the homecoming events).
Shawn had his first Adv. Theatre Arts comp. on Saturday. He was AWESOME! Shawn Sr. and I went and watched the prelims and they did a great job. He was doing a Duet with his friend Alex. They made it to the Semi- Finals. WOW! The only Freshman team at SGP to make it to semi finals that day! How cool is that! Didn't get to the Finals, but, hey, he has the rest of the year to get to that point. A great start I would say though. We went out on Thursday and Friday and found him a suit for the competition. (Now that was an adventure). He looked great! So handsome!
Kellee had her third Cross Country run. She shaved off 2 min in her 2nd run. Her 3rd run, not so lucky, but there were a lot of hills in her 1st and 3rd runs. So, we will see what this weekend brings. She really seems to be enjoying Cross Country. And I am happy that she is staying active.
It's so interesting to experience High School from a parent standpoint. Wow, now I know what my parents went through. Poor things!
I will try to post some pictures tonight.

Quickie
Ok, well, a quick update. Last week was Shawn and Kellee's first week as 9th graders! Wow, they grow up so quickly! And they are attending SGP! GO WARRIORS!!!
Shawn tried out for Tennis, and also had his frst audition for the Fall school play. He is taking Theatre Arts, PE, and Animation as his electives this year. He had a very busy week last week. And is looking forward to a great year, full of lots of things to do.
Kellee transferred into Cross Country, and has been running ever since. (She ran 5 miles yesterday - I know, it was a holiday - but they still had to go to school to train...) Soccer try outs are in December for school, and she is looking forward to that. Kellee is taking Cross Country, BCIS (Computer class) and Health for her electives this year. Kellee is still a part of Odyssey East team (competetive soccer club) and is still enjoying that.
So, we keep pretty busy! But, I will post as much as possible.
